About Conrad Liveris.
I’m the Chief Economist and Director of Black Swan Economics & Advisory.
I work on labour markets, earnings, employability and economic loss, alongside economic advice for governments, businesses and community organisations. Based in Perth, I work across Australia.
My approach combines economic expertise, practical experience as an executive and director, and communication skills tested through media interviews, public speaking and giving evidence to courts and public inquiries, including under cross-examination.
Leadership and governance
I have more than a decade of governance experience across health, justice, education and community services, including mergers, restructures and chief executive transitions.
I chair thread, community + health, following the merger of WAAC and HepatitisWA, and serve on the board of Carine Senior High School and the advisory board of Future Forward Australia.
From 2019 to 2025, I was Executive Officer of The Piddington Society, leading its development into a legal education and access to justice organisation with programs used across Australia.
As Chair of Sussex Street Community Law Service, including a period as Executive Chair, I worked on its financial and governance renewal and merger with Palmerston. I was also the inaugural Chair of Rainbow Futures WA.
Research, writing and speaking
I write and speak on the economy, labour markets, public policy and governance. My work has appeared in The Australian, Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald and The West Australian, and I contribute to radio and television commentary.
